The Claremont Hotel is a 2* listed mid 19th century building which was largely destroyed by fire in November 2019.

Moxley Architects obtained planning and listed building consent for the total refurbishment of the Audley Hotel in 2019. Works include new lifts, lowering the basement floor slab, forming new kitchens, bar and restaurants, reconstructing the top floors, adding air conditioning and restoring the spire and dormer gables which had been destroyed by bombing in WW2. This project is now on site with Moxley Architects as Lead consultant and Principal Designers. Client is the Grosvenor Estate.
The charity, Jewish Blind and Disabled, approached Moxley Architects to review an existing proposal for an extension to their assisted living apartment development, Cecil Rosen Court. The proposed scheme had received adverse comments from the local authority planning officers. JBD chose Moxley Architects, because of their strong track record of dealing with listed buildings and conservation areas, to advise on how the scheme should be developed. The scheme was substantially revised following lengthy discussions with the client and planning officers and just 4 weeks after being commissioned the new planning application was submitted for approval. Not only did the new scheme receive support from the planning officers, but the client gained an additional 10% floor area to provide 19 assisted living apartments.
The new building is an extension to the existing facility, Cecil Rosen Court, connected via a glazed link structure at ground level. The construction team had the challenge of constructing the new building whilst ensuring that the health and safety of the residents of the adjoining facility was not compromised. The new wing is now known as The Dyna and Fala Weinstock Wing.
Moxley Architects were commissioned by Stansted Mountfitchet Parish Council to develop a scheme for a new community hub and library building in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex. On the site of a former telephone exchange, the new Mountfichet Exchange building will house the library and includes meeting rooms and other facilities for council and library staff.
The project at 18-22 Weighhouse Street, in the heart of Mayfair, to provide two new retail units and two luxury apartments for the Grosvenor Estate has been successfully completed.
The scheme involved the conversion and remodelling of the lower ground, ground and first floors of a 19th century building to create contemporary retail and residential spaces.
The refurbishment of 15 North Audley Street, in the heart of Mayfair, for the Grosvenor Estate to provide five new high specification apartments has been successfully completed.
The project involved the conversion, remodelling and extension of redundant office space on the upper levels of a 19th century building to create new contemporary residential units. The scheme included the infill of the underdeveloped side extension, the construction of a new mansard, additions to the rear extensions, and new external roof terraces and green roof space.
A backland site within a conservation area in Clapham which, prior to redevelopment consisted of a dilapidated cottage and lock-up garages, was last used as a car repair business.
A development for Amhola Ltd., Wardell Mews comprises one three bed and three five bed houses, of two and three storeys including the lower ground floor, with driveway access from Hannington Road.
Moxley Architects were commissioned to undertake a strategic planning study and programme of works for the Lansdowne private members club in Mayfair. The club’s Masterplanning Committee had put forward a number of potential projects that our commission was to consider.
The projects ranged from the relaying of the York stone courtyard and restoration of the Grade II* listed art deco swimming pool ceiling below, the provision of new squash courts, a dance studio, cardio and weights gyms, new and refurbished male and female changing facilities, internal decorations and external floodlighting and the provision of further members’ bedrooms.
The practice has since completed the design and construction of the majority of the projects listed above and further works for bedrooms are planned in the near future.
A project for The Grosvenor Estate, in the Mayfair Conservation Area, was the renovation of a Victorian property to provide one and two bedroom luxurious managed short let apartments. This ‘Aparthotel’ is part of the GoNative.com brand of serviced apartments.
