RORC Clubhouse, Cowes, Isle of Wight

Work has completed on the extension and internal refurbishment of The Royal Ocean Racing Club clubhouse in Cowes, Isle of Wight creating new bar, restaurant, office and WC facilities.

Internally the new copper and oak clad bar was built by local boat builder Clare Lallow to a Moxley Architects design. Oak flooring is by Havwoods and the floor and wall tiling in the showers and toilets by Domus. The Alavo mirror system by Dolphin installed in the toilets incorporate sensor taps, soap dispensers and hand dryers.

Externally the single storey extension is clad in a mix of TECU patinated copper panels by KME and Antro facing brickwork by Vandersanden. Two six metre wide aluminium framed sliding doors by IQ Glass maximise the sea views from the bar and restaurant. Outdoor eating and entertaining can take place overlooking the sea on the enlarged Portland Stone terrace by Albion Stone.

The clubhouse is now open and being used for a host of summer sailing events.
